How do I use BI Content?
There are several methods of interacting with reports in Damstra BI.
These include:
- Drill Down
- Drill Through
- User Prompt Filters & Breadcrumbs
- Exporting and Broadcasting
- Analytic Dashboards
Interactive elements are used within Reports, Charts, Dashboards, and Storyboards in order to encourage you to view, explore, investigate, and think about your data.

Drill Down This allows you to step through a pre-defined hierarchy within one report. You will view the report and click on a hyperlinked value in order to drill down one level. Once drilled you will see the report refresh to show data from the second level of the hierarchy within the value selected in the first level. Example: Company Name > Level 1 > Level 2 |
|
Drill Through This allows the user to click on a value in a summary report, and open a detail report in order to further investigate, which is filtered by the row selected in the summary report. |
|
User Prompt Filters User Prompt filters allow you to reduce the results displayed in a report, based on the values selected in the filter. |
|
Exporting and Broadcasting BI allows you to set up a scheduled broadcast of a report. This means that based on the schedule you define, BI will automatically email the results of a report to defined recipients. Alternatively, reports can be accessed and exported ad-hoc to be used in external applications. The formats include:

This means that if, for example, you apply a date filter to one of your reports, you can have that same filter apply to all or a selection of the other reports on the tab. This type of interaction includes:
