Advanced broadcasting requires two reports. The main report you would like to have broadcasted, and a second recipient report, that contains recipients and filter rules for the main report.
For example, Report 1 will have the Site Name and the Number of Events that have occurred and Report 2 will have email addresses listed by Site Name.
Create the main report
Create the report you wish to broadcast. In this example my report is as follows:
The intention of this report is to give a summary of information to be sent to only the relevant people. Ie people who are assigned to the site.
Include the filters in this report that you wish the recipients report to be filtered by.
As I only want this report to send to relevant people to each site, Accountable Site Name needs to be used as a filter.
When saving the report, ensure to change the distribution tab security settings to 'Unsecure' to enable the broadcast to be sent by email.
Create the recipient report
The minimum that is required for this report is an employee's email address and the fields that it will be filtered by. In this case, Employee Site Name and Employee Email Address.
If you do not wish some people to be on this list, filter them out as per normal.
Set up the broadcast on the main report
Create a new broadcast, instead of entering recipients, change the setting to advanced.
Clicking in the recipients box will bring up all reports that include valid email addresses, find the report you created for the recipients.
Assign the filters, if you do not wish to include a filter in the list, leave the value as 'Omit'.
Set the broadcast up as normal!
Voila!!!
