OVERVIEW
“An Event is anything that has caused or had the potential to cause harm”.
The following written procedure relates to using the Event "Review" Tab within Damstra Safety.
Within this short article you will learn:
- The context for using the Review tab.
- How to add an event review.
- How to make conducting a review mandatory before closing off an event.
PRE-REQUISITES
- Ensure you've learned the fundamentals of using Damstra Safety via our 'Damstra Safety Essentials' guide (click here).
Context
The review tab within an individual event as several general uses stated below and can be used for one or any of these:
- Peer review
- Spot Check/Random Review
- Manager or Committee Review
In each of these cases the review would be conducted to ensure that all the appropriate steps had been taken to investigate the causes of an event and that all practicable actions had been taken to reduce the likelihood of the event would occurring again.
Add an Event Review
Locate and edit the required event from the event register.
Click the "Reviews" tab.
The Reviews tab will display any existing reviews conducted for the event in the reviews table.
Click "Add"
From the resulting Form select the name of the person who has conducted the review.
Note: If this is a sensitive event ONLY those marked as sensitive users in the event "Details" tab will be available to select here.
Next select the date the Review was completed from the "Date Picker".
If you wish to send a notification email to the "Person" who conducted the review, that the review has been recorded, tick the checkbox
And finally update the "Comments" field with the outcome of the review.
Once all details of the review have been updated click "Save Review".
Result: The Review is now recorded against the event in the Review Register
Make conducting a review mandatory
Conducting a review can be made a mandatory step in the event completion process. This can be set for any or all event types that occur within your business.
In order to make this a mandatory step you must access the settings area within Damstra Safety.
Next open the "Event Fields Mandatory" section.
Scroll to the "Management Review for Completion" checkboxes.
Select the checkbox for the event type or types that you wish to have a compulsory review.
This means that it will be mandatory for the event to have a review loaded against it in Damstra Safety before it can be signed off as completed.
Once selected scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Save".
